Benefits of Tea
BASE NOTES
Black: Fully compliant and caffeine-fuelled! Benefits include increased alertness, some cancer-busting antioxidants, and a shortlived blood pressure boost.
Green: Drink too much and you might end up à-la-Marvin the Martian, but the combination of caffeine and L-theanine in green tea improves brain function, while antioxidants lower your risk of cancer and infections. Green tea helps oxidise fat in the body and can improve insulin levels.
Rooibos: No caffeine means a cup of rooibos before bed is a great idea. Rooibos also contains antioxidants, helps prevent some cancers, improves circulation and absorbtion of iron, and relieves stomach complaints.
Honeybush: Honeybush contains antioxidants, reduces blood sugar and cholesterol, eases symptoms of menopause, and assists nursing mothers to produce milk.
HEART AND HEAD NOTES
Hibiscus: Hibiscus lowers blood pressure, is caffeine-free and assists with insomnia, contains high levels of vitamin C, and fights free radicals with its antioxidant properties.
Rose: Rose petals & Rose hips contain large amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants. Rose relives water retention and stimulates kidneys and helps to relieve menstrual cramps, irregular periods and aids fertility.
Geranium: Geranium is great at treating mild gastrointestinal ailments such as diarrhoea and inflammation in the bladder, and other symptoms related to Crohn’s disease.
Lemongrass: The health benefits of lemongrass include relief from stomach disorders, insomnia, respiratory disorders, fever, aches, infections, rheumatism and edema. The defensive antioxidant activity of the lemongrass herb protects against antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and helps in maintaining optimum cholesterol levels, cellular health, nervous system, healthy skin and immune system. Lemongrass is also effective in treating type 2 diabetes, cancer, and obesity, while also aiding in detoxification. It is extensively used in aromatherapy and helps to combat fatigue, anxiety and body odor.
Lavender: Lavender relieves insomnia and indigestion, and may treat migraines.
Fennel: Liquorice-lovers will enjoy the high antioxidant levels fennel provides, as well as flatulence and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) relief. Fennel also helps to freshen your breath!
Nettle: Nettle is a powerful little herb, it stimulated lymph system and boosts immunity, promotes a release from uric acid from joints, Reduces inflammation, Supports the endocrine health by helping the thyroid, spleen and pancreas and is super high in iron!
Mint: Mint is great for upset tummies and digestive issues. Mint also relieving stress and sinus, and also helps with skin problems (you can even add it to your bath!).
